This thread collects community notes about connecting a Megmeet Ehave2 CM500 welder to a Fairino robot through the DB25 analog interface. If you are looking at Ethernet/IP instead, see this thread about the device-to-device limitation.
Status
Partial checklist. These are integrator notes, not an official wiring guide. Check them against your welder manual and test without an arc first.
Signal names that match
- Arc starting signal (welder) = Arcing (Fairino)
- Reverse wire feeding (welder) = Reverse wire feeding (Fairino)
- Wire inching (welder) = Forward wire feeding (Fairino)
- Gas detection (welder) = Aspiration (Fairino)
- Signal of arc starting success (welder) = Arcing succeeded (Fairino)
- Welding power source ready (welder) = Machine preparation (Fairino)
Signals with no match
- Touch sensing and locating are not available on the Fairino side, according to integrators who tested this setup.
Not enough outputs
The control box in this report offers 8 configurable outputs (CO0 to CO7), while the full welder list needs more. Integrators reported that the emergency stop and the JOB ports were not needed in their tests, but the welder ready signal was. A fieldbus or communication board is another option for bigger setups.
Wire reverse starts as soon as it is connected
One user saw the wire reverse start right after connecting the module, whatever the output state. Fairino Europe support pointed to an NPN/PNP mismatch. Wide-voltage control box outputs are complementary and can source or sink the load, so check which input type your welder module uses.
Welder without arc feedback
Disabling arc detection can still leave a warning before each start on v3.9.9. The suggested fix is a wire loop from the Arcing output to the Arc success input.
