This thread collects safety wiring notes for connecting external E-stop circuits, door interlocks and safety controllers to Fairino controllers.
Status
Known warning. Treat this as a safety-critical topic. Always validate wiring with the official manual, a qualified safety engineer and your local regulations.
Important warning
- Do not assume that an OSSD safety output can be connected directly to every Fairino E-stop input.
- Community reports indicate that the E-stop circuit may expect dry contacts or a suitable safety relay interface.
- Incorrect wiring can damage outputs, controller electronics or create an unsafe machine state.
Known checks
- Confirm whether the external device outputs dry contacts, PNP/NPN signals or OSSD pulses.
- Check the Fairino safety input wiring diagram for your controller model.
- Use a safety relay/interface module when required.
- Test stop categories and reset behavior before production use.
- Document which E-stop source is reported back to the upstream safety controller to avoid feedback loops.
