Known answer / collection. File names can include multiple abbreviations, and choosing the wrong firmware may prevent the fieldbus card from working.
Common abbreviations
- PN / PP: usually related to Profinet packages or Profinet variants.
- CC: usually related to CC-Link.
- EIP: Ethernet/IP.
- FRJ / Hilscher FRH: different card families may need different firmware packages.
Known checks
- Identify the exact extension card hardware before flashing anything.
- Do not rely only on the filename if it contains several protocol names.
- Confirm whether you have an FRJ card or a Hilscher-based card.
- Use the firmware that matches both the protocol and the card hardware.
