This thread collects community notes about digital input and output types on Fairino control boxes.

Partial checklist. These are reports, not an official wiring guide. The answer can differ between control box types, so measure before you connect anything.
Digital inputs and the DIP switch
- One user quotes the manual as saying that inputs are NPN by default, and that a DIP switch inside the control box changes this.
- Some users could not find the switch. Whether the FRC100-AC-5000A has it is still an open question.
- Ask your supplier about the warranty before opening the control box.
CO outputs
- One user reported 24 V on an idle CO output, and that the output switches to 0 V when active.
- Fairino Europe support said wide-voltage control box outputs are complementary, so they can source or sink the load.
- One user connected CO0 and CO1 together to drive a relay, and both outputs then stopped responding. The cause is not confirmed, so avoid linking outputs until this is clear.
Tool flange outputs and inductive loads
- Support described the cobot end outputs as sinking to GND. In one case a vacuum gripper needed NPN mode.
- Do not connect an inductive load directly. Support advises a protection diode or a relay, because the output can be damaged.
